Calling Of The Winged Creatures

Today was November 14th, 2006. It was my father's birthday.

I also knew today was more, so I prepared the special incense and beverage and in mid-afternoon climbed to the pinnacle of the mount in the Sacred Herb Gardens Of New Jerusalem. To the rock at the top I went, the location where the Counseling Of Nations shall take place. I lit the incense, found a nice log, sat down, and waited.

There were no prayers to be said, no ritual to perform, faith would guide events. I looked to the skies, light clouds and late fall crystal blue sky. A gentle cool breeze stirred the tall broom sage, now golden brown and ready for harvest, such as now perhaps are many things. The breeze became a more gusty wind. I knew they would come.

I sat and admired God's great creation and beauty, and thought of how the Gardens would become, and knew there was much work to do. The radiance of the sun became as I have only known it twice before, and I thought perhaps now the time is approaching, if so, my witnessess would be close. I rose and took a few steps into the opening and looked, ah yes, they are in sight.

I looked into the clear sky, and at a distance I saw it. A first just a small circling speck so high in the sky one could hardly notice or identify what it was. It began dropping down each time it circled. One mighty bird of prey, huge, beautiful, powerful. It flew over my head high above and I could see silver under it's dark wings spread wide, as it circled I could see it's head turn towards me, then turn away.

I raised my Priest's Staff and in Angel Speak cried out to the vulture. "Welcome O' devourer of death from the skies! Bring forth to me the multitudes of your kind, for I call upon thee, O' bearers of death on the winds. Fill the skies for God's earth may soon be yours!"

I pointed my Staff to the four corners of the winds and they responded. I raised it high above my head and in Angel Speak gave the divination. Now from many directions they came, the high swirling glides of many kinds of scavengers, their numbers growing into the horizon, the quick bursts of the hawks and falco peregrinus as they came through the space above the Mount, some landing in trees, only to be chased away by the crows, which seem to rise from every tall pine. They joined the swirling mass, now of many birds, the crows calling out and chasing even the great vultures, who responded by simply widening their circle, and flying higher.

Some of the mighty winged creatures, the largest ones, came in fast and low, close enough for me to see their heads clearly, their eyes glistening, their wings spread wide, the intricate colors of their feathers. They came in one after the other, as if in review, their numbers now filling the skies and tallest trees. The cacophony of the crows and smaller birds of a type and number I cannot describe, drown even the sound of transfer trucks on the nearby highway. Still, more great wings appeared, circling high and low in the sky. Like dogfighters in war the winged creatures rode on the winds above me.

I raised my Staff, pointing towards these great birds, and in english this time, I cried to them; "O' riders of the great winds of this earth which is yours! Gather now and prepare to feast! For the men and women who want to be great still destroy your earth, still use this creation to play silly games, full of petty and ignorance, wanting justice for nothing, wanting to find riches where there are none, to plunder and apply violence, they toll and believe they are righteous! Come now great winged warriors of the natural state. Prepare to feast on their flesh!"

I held my Staff up high and the trees emptied of their tenants. Their cries carried by the gusting winds. Still in the distance I could see more circling, as far as I could see, wings spread wide. I looked towards my witnesses. They were leaving, perhaps they had not seen what they wanted to see, perhaps they had seen enough.

I thought of those they represent. Believing themselves in authority to be pure, but knowing they, as all, are tainted and full of sin. Their corruption made plain publically, some of them made to pay, more to pay still. Perhaps the one half of one percent opening of the Seal which brought them fire falling from the sky and engaged the beast against them from the east was not enough. Perhaps the five percent opening of the Seal which brought the forces of wind and water which battered their nation and people in the south and gave a small glimpse of what will come was not enough. I begin to think, they want it all. For surely, they try way too hard.

Maybe I thought, this nation cannot control those to which it gives power. For it is clear to all there is much violence and evil in their ways, regardless of how good they want you to believe they are. I gave them up to God that he may judge, for I had already forgiven all of them for what they do. But my patience has reached its end.

So on this day I made that decision. No third examples. Next time, I give them Hell.

I raised my Staff once again and dismissed the winged creatures. As quickly as it began, the sky cleared. One last vulture, the largest of its kind I have ever seen, glided by slowly, its great head turned towards me, feet tucked up tight against it's body. It never flapped it's wings as it sailed off above the trees, rising higher, towards the clouds.

As it disappeared, I descended the mount, and prepared for an early sleep.
