GREGORY PAUL - AWAKE FROM THE FLASH

A psychedelic loop to start belies the depth of this album, though at times here be true classics, such as the shimmering Lost Diamond. Gregory Paul has mellowed it down slightly from his alternarock material with Autumndivers, he still does alot of psuedo-pop experimentation (listen to cut "A Walking Fire"), and throughout the entire album there is layered acoustica. A few spots is is strongly reminding of Radiohead, or maybe acoustic Lennon. Gregory Paul sounds best to me, when he's slightly on a tagent, and deep in space (Strychnine Blues). When he's truly creating. Some may perfer the strumming of the guitars. I prefer them jamming, Gregory Paul provides both, with a little floyd thrown in for good measure (Silly Dream).
