My sister and I went to visit our father today and were joined there at the old home place by my son and his mother, whom I have not seen in two years. It was a nice visit, not sad at all to me even considering the circumstances with Dad being so ill and the toll everything has taken on my mother who also is slowly deteriorating. The old house too is in bad shape, the back yard and neighborhood street overall almost unrecognizable from the paradise I remember from my youth. My Dad sparked up while he got to visit with my Son, his grandchildren always have meant so much to he and mom.

Raven and his mother had just left, Mom was washing the dishes and my sister was in the car ready for our travel back to where we live when as I went to step out the front door my dad called to me. He wanted me to get him a glass of juice from the kitchen. I did and as I sat it down on the little stand next to his chair, I saw he had tears beginning to come as he looked out the window. I am sure he did not want me to see him crying. I said I'll see you later and his voiced cracked as he said ok.

Spend as much time as you can with those you love. One day, physically they will not be there, and time will seem to be fleeting in your own life, and the world a much colder place. Nothing is more important than family, nothing. Even if you've never had any, chances are you have people who love you very much. Love them back, as much as you can, while you can.
