The above herbs are used in a mix known to the ancients as "Root Tonic". It has been used for centuries in treating the following: Advanced and intermediate types of cancer, both internal and for skin, healing of soft tissue lesions, digestive stimulation and stool softener (weight maintenance), fatigue and low energy levels, weak immunity syndrome, high blood pressure, erectile dysfunction, blood purification, kidney stones & diuretic cleansing.
Over time there have been many "doctors" and "practitioners" who have used the above herbs in a root tonic or tea mix and claimed the resulting medicines were their own creations. Bur Oil as a product is very popular in parts of Europe. Some have even tried to patent various mixtures (essiac tea, used in Canada as a legal cancer treatment). From my experience, a decoction is the best way to blend these herbs. A simple recipe follows:
Anti-Cancer Decoction (Root Tonic, also known as West's Anti Cancer #2)
1 part Sheep Sorrel (whole herb)
1/4 part Turkish Rhubarb Root
1 part Slippery Elm Bark
2 parts Burdock root
Mix all the ingredients together in either a pyrex or stainless steel boiler. DO NOT USE ALUMINUM, TEFLON COATED, IRON OR COPPER boilers because the herbal mixture leeches metals and impurities from these metals. Cover your mixture with 3 inches of water (level above the herbs when soaked) and boil hard for 15 minutes. Let cool until temperature is low enough to pour into non-leaded glass jars. Let sit at room temperature uncovered for 1-2 hours. Cover and set in refrigeration for at least 4 hours (the idea time before initial pour is 12 hours).
Mostly, this decoction is used as an additive to other drinks or unsugared coffee. It will have a very dark brown - almost black color with a sheen (silvery, like a clear coating). This viscosity is caused by the Slippery Elm Bark inclusion. I don't strain off the mix, but pour off the top and use the dregs for skin cancer applications and poultices. It will keep refrigerated up to three weeks, though drink ability decreases significantly over time after three days. Your finished decoction will have a deep, rich roasted smell, with a hint of sweet earth. It is very strong and most people cannot drink the decoction by itself, instead using it as an additive to other drinks.
After about a day, the Decoction will have a layer of oil at the top. Many herbologists say this is the strongest part, and the pharmaceutical industry uses this top layer to make injectibles used in cancer treatments.
DO NOT use more than 1 liter of decoction in a week's time. This is a strong, potent medicine, and your body must get used to it, otherwise you can get over stimulation and possible kidney pains caused by using too much in a short span of time.. Generally, small amounts are used frequently, though I have used up to a half liter a day of it during tests with little side effect other than lack of fatigue which would encourage sleep. Sleep seemed to be normal and actually very relaxing when taking this Decoction over a period of time however, and I found this recipe to be excellent at lowering my own blood pressure without the side effects such as foxglove gives.

Note: When collecting in the wild, many people mistake Milk Thistles for Burdock. Burdock does not have thorns on its wider, smoother lower leaves when it is young.
