Gung-ho anti-drug Sheriff's son arrested for hemp possession

From The Bartow County Daily Tribune:

"David Clark Millsap, 22, of 15 Cut Off Road, Cartersville, was arrested and charged with possession, manufacture, distribution, etc., Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act. He is the son of Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap."

While it is unfortunate this young man was arrested, the report does say he was transporting the illegal plant substance hemp in his vehicle. The World Council does not support the transportation or use of hemp in conjunction with operating a vehicle, since this medicinal herb is also an intoxicant, and its use in relation to operating a vehicle puts the operator and others on the road at risk. The World Council does support the licensing of hemp for individuals to grow and use on their own property, in alignment with The Word, which states all plants are gifts from God and their use outside of commercial means is allowed under the Laws Of God.

While undoubtedly this Sheriff will say "the dope" is the problem here, perhaps he should sit back and realize it is the law, which he swears to uphold, at the root of this, and now his son's problem. While transporting the hemp would still be considered improper and illegal, he should consider that whatever "dope problem" his son may have had, if in fact it was a "problem", is now significantly compounded and expanded by the overzealous application of a failed and flawed set of laws.

It will be interesting to see if this young man is treated like the others this Sheriff has raised his power against in years past, or if he is allowed a watered down sentence, AND, if his son continues to be on the Sheriff Department's vaulted and sacred "clients" list, which lists people who have been arrested (not necessarily prosecuted) for hemp offenses or those who his department would "like" to arrest for hemp offenses, even if there is little or no evidence that the person in question is actually a drug dealer, or regular user. Such lists set his department up for, among other things, slander and liable charges, as well as defamation of character results (among many, may other civil rights, and decency abuses) when such lists are known to the public, which is generally the case since the "client lists" are used for identification purposes for informants and extended surveillance purposes.

Interesting too to see if his son snitches on whomever he got the herb from.....

God's justice can be very interesting sometimes. You break his laws, doesn't matter how high and mighty you may be, eventually, you pay. Interesting too to see if people can learn something from it...
